Privacy policy
Who We Are
This Privacy Policy describes how Sear Cookware, operated by Divorn, Anemoonstraat 128, 3434JG, Nieuwegein, the Netherlands, registration number 92730132 ("we", "us"), collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from sear-cookware.com (the "Site"). For any privacy-related questions you can reach us at support@sear-cookware.com.
Information We Collect
Order information. When you make (or attempt to make) a purchase, we collect your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information. Payment details are processed securely by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
Device information. When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device: IP address, browser type, time zone, and information about how you interact with the Site (pages viewed, products looked at, referring websites and search terms). We collect this using cookies, pixels and similar technologies.
Communications. When you contact our support team or subscribe to our emails, we keep a record of that correspondence and your email address.
How We Use Your Information
- To fulfil orders: processing payment, arranging shipping, and providing invoices and order confirmations;
- To communicate with you about your order and provide customer support;
- To screen orders for potential risk or fraud;
- To send you marketing communications about our products and offers — only where you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email;
- To improve and optimize our Site, for example by analyzing how visitors browse and interact with it.
Legal basis (EU/EEA visitors). We process your data on the basis of: performance of a contract (fulfilling your order), your consent (marketing), our legitimate interests (fraud prevention, site improvement), and compliance with legal obligations (tax and accounting).
Who We Share Your Data With
We share your personal information only with service providers that help us operate the store, and only to the extent necessary:
- Shopify — the platform that powers our online store;
- Payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal) — to process your payment securely;
- Shipping carriers and fulfilment partners — to deliver your order;
- Email and marketing platforms (Klaviyo, WeTracked, Meta, CWILL, Katching Cart, SMSGo) — to send order updates and, with your consent, newsletters and marketing communications;
- Post-purchase and retention tools (Aftersell, Disputifier) — to manage upsells, disputes and order follow-up;
- Analytics and advertising partners (Google Analytics, Meta) — see "Advertising and Analytics" below.
We may also share information to comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights. We never sell your personal information.
Advertising and Analytics
We use targeted advertising tools such as the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Google advertising services to show you ads that may interest you, and analytics tools to understand how the Site is used. These partners may collect information about your visits through cookies and similar technologies. You can opt out of interest-based advertising via:
- Meta: facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads
- Google: google.com/settings/ads
- Digital Advertising Alliance: optout.aboutads.info
Cookies
Cookies are small data files stored on your device. We use them to keep your shopping cart working, remember your preferences, understand how you use the Site, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking essential cookies may affect how the Site functions (for example, your cart may not work).
Data Retention
When you place an order, we retain your order information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete it, and in any case as long as required by applicable law (for example, tax and accounting regulations, which typically require retention of transaction records for 7 years).
Your Rights
If you are located in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, and to ask that it be corrected, updated, deleted or ported to another provider. You also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@sear-cookware.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
If you are a resident of California or certain other US states, you may have similar rights to know, delete and opt out under applicable state privacy laws. Contact us at support@sear-cookware.com to exercise these rights. We do not sell personal information as defined under those laws.
Minors
The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data Security and International Transfers
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including SSL encryption on all pages of the Site. Because our service providers may operate globally, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The current version will always be available on this page.
